From Closet to Community

The Green Thread Project is a mobile outreach initiative dedicated to weaving dignity, warmth, and hope back into the lives of our unhoused and underserved community members.

Through our free clothing bus, we provide access to essential items – including gently used clothing, shoes, hygiene products and new undergarments – with compassion, respect and no judgement. We believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued.

Emphasis on Mobile

The Green Thread Project is a mobile outreach project, with the emphasis on mobile. We can bring the bus to your location to either pick up donations, or to have a distribution event at a place that is convenient to those who need it.

Our mission is to create meaningful connections while meeting real, human needs – one thread, one person, one act of kindness at a time.

We are currently accepting donations of:

  • Clean, Gently used men’s and women’s clothing
  • Shoes in good condition
  • Travel sized hygiene items
    (Toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, deodorant, combs, brushes)
  • New undergarments and socks (unopened only)
  • Gently used/new sleeping bags
  • Financial donations to help us keep the bus rolling and shelves stocked
We kindly ask that all donated clothing items be freshly washed and clean to ensure they’re ready for immediate use by individuals who need them most.
